Madeline and Dillon's first date was on a beach. They got engaged on a beach. And on their three year anniversary, they got married on one too, at The Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, on a completely private stretch of shoreline they had entirely to themselves. Madeline describes herself as water and Dillon as earth, and the beach as the place where the two meet. That single idea shaped everything about their day: a slow, intentional morning, a deeply private ceremony, golden hour on the sand, and a celebration full of the people who matter most to them. They wanted their wedding to feel romantic and elegant with room to let loose and have fun, and that is exactly what we built together.

WHAT THEY NEEDED
- A wedding day that felt like them: water meeting earth, ocean meeting sand
- Real, candid emotion over stiff, posed photos
- Cinematic, sweeping footage that told the story of their relationship
- A wedding film built around their actual vows, playing behind the visuals
- No all day photoshoot feeling, just short, intentional pockets of portrait time throughout the day
- A private first look in the forest, away from guests and observers
- Ten minutes completely alone together immediately after their ceremony
- A longer golden hour session at sunset to let the light and the location shine
- Their dog, Bear, woven into the day as their ring bearer
- Just as much focus on the people around them, family and close friends, as on the two of them
WHAT WE DID
- Built a custom timeline with Madeline and Dillon weeks in advance, mapping out exactly when and where each portrait session would happen
- Traveled as a full team from Victoria to Tofino and operated as a combined photo and video crew
- Sent part of the team ahead to the reception space to capture every detail before guests arrived
- Stayed with Madeline and Dillon through their first look, ceremony, and golden hour beach session
- Brought in drone coverage to capture the scale and privacy of their ceremony beach
- Mic'd the couple during their vows so the audio could be layered into their wedding film
- Gave them their requested ten private minutes after the first kiss, filming candidly from a distance so the moment stayed their own
- Captured the forest first look, the private beach ceremony, and the choreographed first dance, including the lift and dip at the Hemlock Hideaway
- Built the day around protecting what mattered most to them, instead of rushing them through a shot list

Madeline and Dillon got a wedding day that moved at their pace, not the camera's. They had their slow, present morning, their fully private ceremony and first look, and the ten quiet minutes alone together they asked for right after saying "I do." Their photos and film capture exactly what they wanted to feel when they look back: romantic, elegant, full of real laughter and real tears, with their families, their closest friends, and Bear woven through every part of the story.
