WHAT THEY NEEDED

Marika & Levi wanted timeless, elegant, romantic, and genuinely joyful wedding photography. What they were nervous about was the candid shots and also making sure the posed moments felt natural and real. With only 22 guests and a 4.5-hour window, every shot had to count, and nothing could feel rushed or stiff.

WHAT WE DID

We built the entire timeline around the castle itself, scouting locations in advance so we knew exactly where to be and when. The morning started with Marika getting ready with her sisters, which set the emotional tone for the whole day. We kept our distance during the ceremony to ensure it felt intimate for all the guests, captured candid moments of the speeches, and everyone enjoying cocktail hour. Once the guests had left, we used every inch of Hatley Castle (the grand front steps, the stone gardens, the back staircase, the Italian Gardens) for all of their couple portraits. We kept these portraits feeling like a natural extension of the day rather than a photoshoot, using movement, connection prompts, and their genuine chemistry (which was impossible to miss) to capture photos that feel like them.
