Some wedding days feel beautifully intentional from beginning to end. The kind of day where every detail reflects the couple’s story, and every moment feels effortless, emotional, and deeply personal.
Tiffany and Brett’s romantic outdoor wedding at Puska Properties in Nanaimo was exactly that kind of celebration.

As a Vancouver Island Wedding Filmmaker, capturing weddings like this is always a privilege. From the quiet anticipation of their first look to the golden evening light filtering through the trees during their ceremony, every moment of this day felt cinematic and meaningful.
With only 40 of their closest family and friends, their intimate, relaxed Nanaimo wedding is the kind of celebration where every guest feels part of the story.
As a Victoria BC Wedding Videographer and part of a Vancouver Island Wedding Photo & Video Team, I capture cinematic wedding films that allow couples to relive the emotion of their wedding day for decades to come. With Tiffany and Brett’s film, this was easy to do! Their love is infectious.
Tiffany and Brett have been together since they were just 18 years old. Over the years, their relationship has grown alongside them as they discovered who they were becoming individually and as partners.
Through every stage of life, one thing remained constant: Brett’s unwavering support.

As Tiffany shared during our vision alignment call, “He looks at me like I’m the only person on this earth.” This is evident in every image captured and all throughout their film.

Their relationship is rooted in simple moments together. Walking their dogs. Camping on weekends. Hiking, playing badminton, or heading out for mini golf. And it isn’t unusual for these simple moments to turn into a playful competition!
Brett’s creativity is also a huge part of their love story. At one point, he even built Tiffany a camper trailer from scratch, just so they could explore more together!
But one of Tiffany’s favourite memories of the early days of their relationship is much simpler: Late-night texts inviting her outside to watch the stars. That spontaneity, laughter, and sense of adventure still define their relationship today.

If you are looking for a wedding videographer in Campbell River, Victoria, or anywhere on Vancouver Island to capture your love story just like Tiffany & Brett’s, I’d love to be a part of your special day. Whether it’s a sparkler exit, a vintage car ride, or any other unique moments, I’ll make sure your wedding video is as magical as your big day.

Puska Properties provided the perfect setting for their Vancouver Island outdoor wedding.
Surrounded by tall trees and natural beauty, the property offers a peaceful atmosphere that feels private and immersive. An ideal setting for couples who want their wedding day to feel both relaxed and elevated.

Tiffany and Brett planned their ceremony carefully around the light. Rather than a long traditional wedding day, they chose a later afternoon timeline so their ceremony would begin around 4:30–5:00 pm, when the sunlight filters softly through the trees.
The result was stunning.

Golden light poured through the forest during their ceremony, creating a naturally cinematic backdrop for their vows.
Their wedding party reflected the joyful tone of the day as well. Bridesmaids wore soft pastel colours — pinks, blues, and yellows — in mismatched dresses, adding a playful elegance to the celebration.

And of course, two very important members of the family were part of the day as well: their beloved dachshunds, who proudly walked down the aisle as ring bearers.

Puska Properties is one of Nanaimo’s most beautiful private wedding venues. Surrounded by towering trees and natural West Coast landscapes, the property offers couples a peaceful setting for an intimate outdoor wedding on Vancouver Island.
The ceremony space allows golden afternoon light to filter through the trees, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere for vows and portraits. With plenty of open space for receptions, sparkler exits, and sunset photos, it’s an ideal venue for couples looking for a relaxed yet elevated outdoor celebration.

For couples planning a Nanaimo wedding or a destination wedding on Vancouver Island, locations like Puska Properties offer a beautiful combination of privacy, natural scenery, and a relaxed West Coast atmosphere.

What made this Nanaimo wedding truly unforgettable were the personal touches that reflected Tiffany and Brett’s playful relationship.
Guests were treated to a relaxed, fun reception featuring pizza and ice cream trucks, creating a casual and memorable dining experience.

Later in the evening, friends and family gathered outside for a classic sparkler exit, creating a glowing tunnel of light for the couple as they celebrated the end of their wedding day.

One of the most cinematic moments of the day came during a planned scene Tiffany and Brett had envisioned from the beginning.
As the evening came to a close, the gates of the property opened and the couple drove their vintage car down the driveway with cans trailing behind — the perfect ending to their wedding film as they disappeared into the sunset.
Moments like this are what make wedding films feel timeless.

From the beginning, Tiffany and Brett knew they wanted their wedding film to feel emotional, joyful, and authentic to their relationship.
When they first saw Hayley’s work, they told her something that meant the world to hear:
“We cried watching your wedding videos. You can really feel the love in them.”
That emotional storytelling became the foundation of their wedding film.

Their final Vancouver Island wedding video collection included several cinematic elements designed to preserve both the big moments and the subtle ones:
The goal with every wedding film is simple: when couples press play years from now, they don’t just see the day again. They feel it.

Many couples planning their wedding on Vancouver Island prioritize photography, but wedding videography brings a completely different layer of storytelling.
A wedding film captures the moments that photos can’t fully hold:
For couples like Tiffany and Brett, whose relationship is filled with laughter, inside jokes, and genuine connection, film allows those moments to live on long after the wedding day.

Planning a wedding on Vancouver Island often means working with an incredible community of local vendors. The team behind Tiffany and Brett’s wedding included:
Each vendor helped create a wedding day that felt relaxed, joyful, and deeply personal.

One of the biggest factors that shapes how a wedding film looks is lighting.
As a Vancouver Island Wedding Videographer, Hayley often works with couples to build a timeline that allows the most important moments of the day to happen in the best possible natural light.
For Tiffany and Brett’s wedding at Puska Properties, their ceremony was intentionally scheduled for late afternoon so the sunlight could filter through the trees. That soft golden light created a naturally cinematic atmosphere for their vows and portraits.

When planning an outdoor wedding on Vancouver Island, considering the direction of the sun and the timing of your ceremony can make a significant difference in how your photos and wedding film ultimately look and feel.

Working with experienced photographers and videographers who understand light ensures your wedding memories feel just as beautiful on film as they did in real life.

Many couples book their videographer 6–18 months before their wedding, especially for popular summer and early fall dates on Vancouver Island. Booking early ensures your preferred photographer or videographer is available.
Photography and videography capture different aspects of the wedding day. Photos preserve beautiful still moments, while film captures movement, voices, music, and the emotional atmosphere of the day.
Many couples choose to have both so they can relive the full experience of their wedding day.
A cinematic wedding film focuses on storytelling rather than simply documenting events. Music, audio from vows and speeches, and carefully selected moments are combined to create a film that feels like a short movie about your wedding day.
My couples receive their full wedding film within 6 weeks after the wedding, along with any highlight trailers or teaser films. But this turn-around time is not typical among all other photographers and videographers so it’s best to confirm when booking.
Drone footage can often be included to capture the beauty of Vancouver Island venues and landscapes. However, it depends on location restrictions, weather conditions, and flight permissions on the wedding day.
Seeing a wedding day unfold on film tells the story in a way words alone never can. Tiffany and Brett’s wedding film captures the quiet emotional moments, the laughter with friends and family, and the golden light that made their Nanaimo outdoor wedding so special.
If you’re planning a wedding in Nanaimo, Victoria, Tofino, or anywhere on Vancouver Island, your wedding film should feel just as meaningful and personal as the day itself.
Hayley and her team specialize in creating cinematic wedding films and vibrant photography that allow couples to relive their wedding day for decades to come.
