Campbell River Wedding Photographer
for Joy & Kallin Wilson's Beach Wedding
On August 4th, 2018, I had the pleasure of photographing Joy & Kallin's beach themed wedding day. The sun was shining, the blues were popping, and the energy was high. They started off by getting ready at Oyster Bay Resort in Campbell River.
After the ladies finished getting ready, it was time to make our way over to Miracle Beach. The beach lies right between Campbell River and the Comox Valley. There's a huge grass area perfect for picnics, or lets say.. weddings!
As friends and family gathered and patiently waited for the bride to arrive, they had a beautiful view of the ocean. Can you tell which image Kallin watched his wife walk down the isle?
After the ceremony, the nerves leading up to it had disappeared and these two were filled with laughter and love. They both have large families who weren't shy congratulating them immediately after the beautiful wedding ceremony.
I love the structure of this Campbell River wedding day at Miracle Beach. The excitement getting ready, during the ceremony, and during the family photos. The energy was high the entire day.
For anyone planning a wedding, usually there is some time given for family photos immediately following the ceremony. This way the family can spend some time with you before mingling with everyone else.
After this, people often choose to get ready for the reception, giving the bride, groom, and wedding party the rest of the time for some pictures!
What a day. Sometimes beach weddings can be risky because wind occurs much more often, but not today. There was no wind to be seen, just the perfectly sunny day.
Okay, enough photos! I make sure to find a perfect balance that gives the bride and groom amazing images to cherish forever, and also time to relax with their friends before dinner. It's important to have images when the day is all over, but it's more important to have memories with your loved ones throughout the day.
This beach themed wedding didn't stop at the ceremony. The reception was next, at Campbell River's Maritime Heritage Centre. The entire evening was filled with bold blues from the cake and candy table, to the table decor and cards. There were also travel photos everywhere. These two were free spirits, going all over the world together. I absolutely love it when couples have photos of themselves from the very beginning of their relationship. It's a wonderful thing to look at. This can be done by hanging the images, or having a guest book with the images printed!
This was truly a wonderful wedding to attend. The entire wedding party and family were a joy to be around, I didn't want to leave.
Congratulations Joy & Kallin. I wish you many more years of love.
